In my freshman year (61-62), my first class of the
day was Algebra with Mr. Manning. If memory serves
the classroom was on the 2nd floor in the front of
the building. The row nearest the window would
regularly launch spitballs whenever Mr. Manning
turned to write on the board.
Interestingly enough, 20 years later the spitballs
were replaced with sharpened pencils which many of
us in my office at the time used to launch into the
suspended ceiling. LOL
