Bill, I can just picture you eating egg rolls on the Rosedale bus with Mr. Gilgannon!
And John, you should have gotten commendations instead of detentions for that hour and a half trip from Flatbush!
I commuted from northern Flushing on the Q44. It was a one-bus trip but took about 45 minutes. I don't remember ever seeing other students on the Q44 but I did occasionally see Patrick Sevillo, who I believe was an assistant principal at the time--perhaps in charge of giving detention slips to students from Flatbush? Mr. Servillo I believe took the Q44 all the way to the Bronx.
These commutes from far-spread neighborhoods certainly weakened our sense of school solidarity.
